Established in Jogjakarta in May 2014, Timba build community makerspace where traditional artisan and designer can collaborate to creating product from waste. In cooperation with craftsman community in Kasihan, Bantul, Timba introduces new approach of product creation.
We addressing on three main challenges:
1. Equal opportunity and capacity building for rural community
2. Economic development for marginalized and underprivileged community, especially artisan and craftman.
3. Utilize waste to create high value added product.
In order to replicate our model, we also built a community makerspace in Banjarnegara. This enables anybody to learn, make, and build their idea into life. Moreover, Woodworking lab, Fashion Lab, Design Lab, and Farming area are available for research and innovations.
